  • David Klein, PhD (Chief AI Scientist)

Deep Learning Expertise; Neural Computation; Production Scale AI

David Klein is a scientist, technologist, and founder with over 20 years of experience applying AI to complex real-world systems. He served as Head of Multisensor Machine Learning at Audience, where he developed deep learning models for real-time sensor processing used in over a billion mobile devices. He has also led the development of global wildlife monitoring systems at Conservation Metrics, using AI to track hundreds of endangered species in remote environments. As Chief Data Scientist at Volta Charging, he led the development of PredictEV, an AI-powered EV charging network planning platform recognized by TIME as one of the Best Inventions for its impact on cost, equity, and carbon Infrastructure. Furthermore, as CTO of Dandelion Science, David has pioneered a new category of closed-loop AI therapies for neurodegenerative and cognitive disorders. His team developed generative AI systems that adaptively stimulate the brain using real-time biosignal feedback, creating precision interventions for cognition, vision, and mood.

David’s work has been featured at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Harvard GSD, UCL Bartlett, and various design symposia for its role in creative AI and human-machine systems. He is the inventor or co-inventor of 17 patents, and the author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications (with over 3400 citations and an h10-index of 28) spanning machine learning, computational neuroscience, speech processing, environmental monitoring, and intelligent systems.
